Day 2...

of being unemployed. :) Day 1 was horrid...well not ALL of it but most of it was. I drop the kids off at school and come home and get to walk!! Yes...all my work that I did this last summer to lose weight...well my time off recovering from my shoulder surgery did NOT a thing for me. I gained 7 of my lost pounds back. UGH. So I need to start skipping the sweets again and get back on the walking wagon. Which I did. But DANG was it cold!! My chin was frozen and it hurt so bad...then it was numb and I couldn't feel a thing. :) I walked almost 2 miles...just back and forth on the patch of walking path that was dry and clear. This morning...I skipped the walking part...it was only 14 out and I wasn't that brave. :) So the rest of yesterday was spent at Walmart and Costco. I DETEST Walmart...it was pure torture. *sigh*

Today my mission was to clean the house. Well...I started on my oldest sons room. I rearranged it for him and ended up hauling out a 13gallon garbage bag full of paper! He's a paper collector!! I guess he comes by that naturally eh?? But seriously it was nuts. Then I got rid of another garbage bag of toys he hasn't played with in years. Of course he PROMISES to keep his room clean. We shall see.

SO some exciting news!! Finally get to reveal the Scrap Pack Retreat!! We are SOOOO excited to be offering this....because the Izaak Walton Inn is AMAZING and the time that I went (which I paid $250 for) it was awesome. They are so friendly..the accomodations are breathtaking and it was so nice and relaxing. So if you are curious...you can check it out HERE. Right on the front page. :) Cool huh. :)

Don't forget about the Design Team call. :) Loving everyone's entries and this is going to be a TOUGH decision. UGH.

Okay...we are actually going out tonight...we were invited to go get the best pizza in town...so how could we pass that up right?? Have a fantastic night ya'll!!

So my life changing 'thing' is this...tomorrow I'm being permanently laid off from my job of 8 years. I'm really sad. I love my guys (I'm the only girl)...I love my job. And it's been a LONG time since I've been unemployed...think college days. *sigh* At first I was excited about not having to work..when we were talking about moving. But now that it's reality I'm freakin' scared as hell...to ummm..put it mildly. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO ALL DAY??? Dang...I'm gonna watch TV and get fat. No..I'm not right? Actually I'm trying to make plans...make a schedule..because I'm kinda type A like that. I like routine...I like doing the SAME THING every single day. My husband calls it boring. I call it safe. I just like knowing what I'm doing and there is nothing wrong with that..right? So I'm freakin' out..can you tell? I'm going to try REALLY hard to get a routine going...and Thursday will be my first day of said routine. I'll fill you in then. :)

As you know..I posted the Design Team search on pubcalls. Very cool.....just getting the word out to a bigger variety and basically..well...more people. I KNOW that my blog is just amazing and you all come here every single day to look for my words of wisdom...but believe it or not..not everyone knows I exist! I know..crazy huh?? :) So I'm hoping that people like what they are seeing and it inspires them to submit for my design team. :) OH and to let you know...I'm replying with a VERY generic message...just so you know that I received your entry. Nothing is worse than sending something in and hearing NOTHING until the day of the reveal. So frustrating. So I just sent a little thanks for your submission note. Just so you would know. :)

Going to upload some of my new tickets to the shop tomorrow...going to do a lot now that I'm officially unemployed! HAA!! Hey..if ya'll have any ideas on what to do with all this free time I'm going to have...please do share!!

Design Team Modification....

Hi all,
I am just posting the little ditty again about the Design Team call...because...I want to extend the deadline....due to..errr...lots of stuff. :)

So here is the information again...please note the new submission deadline. Thanks again and can't wait to see those entries!!

How to apply:
It's easy...just send me a layout that showcases how you use journaling spots (since that's my main thing!!). Please send your layout to boysmamaXtwo@gmail.com by February 1st. Layout does not have to be new or never before seen and does NOT have to include items from My Creative Mess..just a great representation of what you do with journaling spots!! With your email please include your full name, address and link to your online gallery and blog (if you have one). DT call is open to US residents only this time but every month there will be a guest designer and that is open to international designers as well!! The 2 new designers as well as guest designer will be announced no later than February 5th.

Requirements:
I ask that you complete 1 to 2 layouts/projects/cards using goodies from my shop and of course promote them wherever possible. Your projects will be displayed on my blog and photo album as well as used in the product description for the shop listing. You will, of course, be given full credit for your work. You can combine your project for me with any other DT commitment you have...or that is posted someplace else. I would like to ask that you are not designing for any other etsy scrapbooking shop while your term with My Creative Mess is active.

Perks:
Design team commitment is for 6 months and during that time you will be given a new packet of goodies every month in which to create with. You will also receive free shipping on anything you purchase from the shop during your term. Because I'm just one little person and this is all trial and error, I will try to send you extras periodically as I do want to reimburse you fairly for your time and creativity.

Sooooo nervous...

for tomorrow. For what's to come. I'm pretty sure it's going to be quick and final and I'm not sure I'm ready?? I have such mixed emotions about it all...and I'm sure tomorrow I'll be able to go into more detail about it. But for now...I'm just awfully nervous...and a little scared...a lot unsure and just a tiny bit sad. *sigh*

Other than that...talk about a lazy day. Didn't do much except laundry...some grocery shopping and well...that's about it!! :) I was trying to work on my Random Chaos layout but found that I just don't have what it calls for. :( Bummer eh?? So I think I have to skip this week which really stinks!! I am though, working on a sketch from the CMK site. I like their scrappy formulas that they post every Friday. Very cool I've never finished one but I just like that they are there!! tee hee

Hmmm...let's see..what else? Nothing. Literally. SOOOOO...will sign off for tonight...will be back tomorrow to share some more of what I'm talking about up above...and the color orange...it makes me happy. :)

So I'm busy cutting..and uploading stuff to the shop. Including some of my new valentine jotters!! I'm making some valentine bitties as well and hope to have everything up and loaded by tomorrow.

Also have some major life changing news to share with you all...but can't yet until this next week. It's going to be insane as it's something I have never had the luxury of doing/being and I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do. *sigh* I know...kinda cryptic isn't it?? lol

Need to work on my Random Chaos layout today and it is a total challenge. And I'm patiently waiting for my February Sweet Pea Scraps kit to show up!! I think it was mailed today so I should have it on Tuesday (no mail Monday right??). And I'm cleaning my kids' rooms today...without their permission. Everything that I have not seen them playing with in the last few months is out the door. I just don't want to have to pack and move all this crap when the time comes!!

when we move that is. (which I still don't know when...I'm just thinking that I know I might..just a little). Don't get me wrong..I cannot WAIT to get back to the flatland. But this is the view out my front door. I stood on my driveway and took this picture tonight...the sun was just setting and the mountains were glowing. Just a hint of fog. It was breathtaking. So there ya go Missy...there are our 'hills'. :)

I WILL get the drawing winner drawn soon. I'm busy uploading new goodies into the shop. :) Stay tuned....

Well today was my post op appointment for my shoulder. It went well...I got some new exercises to do. It's still sore but better...at least I don't have that constant nagging pain 24/7.

Stopped by the scrapbook store in Polson. She has a really nice store there....lots of product and at retail prices which is always a bonus. :) I picked up some Tim Holtz papers that she had on clearance for a dime/sheet. A DIME. I'm not even kidding. Not sure what I'm going to do with 'em but for a dime I couldn't pass 'em up!!

Random Chaos is back up and running again!! Woohoo!! Our challenge this week was to use a bird on our layout. My layout is using a Got Sketch sketch. So fun to get back into the swing of things. I urge you all to check out the layouts the girls provided...talk about some major talent over there. OMG...the layouts are amazing!!! Oh and speaking of challenges...I posted the challenge last night at the Sweet Pea Vine. Help a girl out wouldja and play along?? And just think...you COULD win!! The prizes they give out are amazing. The winner for the December challenges received THIRTY sheets of American Crafts paper. I'm not even joking!! So go check it out!!

Oh I'm so excited that I have a funny Mathew story to share!! :) Shawn just told me this but it happened at Christmastime when we were at my folks. My mom has a bowflex. Shawn was tucking Mathew into bed and Mathew says...dad...I worked out on grama's bowflex..check out my abs. (as he pulls up his shirt and flexs his little skinny body). Then he tells my husband...dad..you have abs too..they are just under your fat. bahahahaahahahaha Now THAT is funny!! :)

My Creative Mess Design Team Call!!

So after many positive responses via comments here, emails and pm's...I have decided to have a design team call for my esty shop. Now bear with me...as this is the first it's pretty experimental..just want you to be forewarned before you decide you would like to apply. :)

How to apply:
It's easy...just send me a layout that showcases how you use journaling spots (since that's my main thing!!). Please send your layout to boysmamaXtwo@gmail.com by January 25th. as I'm busy cutting out Valentine tickets. :) Would it be totally stupid for me to have a design team?? I don't mean like a ton of people. But maybe like 2 people...to just have some layouts to showcase some of my things?? I'm SO not trying to make myself important or be the bomb...but honestly I would LOVE to have some examples up of how cool they look on actual layouts and just not photographed. The layout that Laura Vegas created with my calendar raffle tickets...that was AWESOME to show that...I think it would be great and sometimes I feel like all I do is try to promote myself when I use them in my own layouts (I know..that probably sounds really silly!!) I would love to hear some input...give me your thoughts...even if you are telling me that it's a totally dumb idea!!

And your input DOES count for the giveaway!! lol

so before I go further I NEED to clarify. It's really disturbing to think that some people are leaving negative comments on Sasha's blog because of her post. I'm REALLY hoping that none of my readers would do that cuz well...that would make me feel HORRID for linking. Anyway...here is the post that she wrote that I thought ROCKED.

IN THIS INDUSTRY YOU HAVE TO ...

.... stay true to who you are, your work and your techniques

.... never forget where you came from and where you once started out in the beginning

.... appreciate those that you inspire and continue to be positive with them and for them

.... never let your head get bigger than a bowling ball because the shit is not cute

.... take the time to reach out to more than just the big names but to those that you CAN relate too

.... never let this industry make you feel you are not good enough just because someone shredded their paper versus keeping the lines straight

.... never over work yourself, lose the fun in it, stop scrapping for you..go for things you believe in.

....never apologize for wanting to be on a Design Team, wanting to be published.

....never let it get you down or stop you after someone tells you something similiar to what was said to me "your style is just not what folks are looking for, but you ROCK non-the-less, I just doubt I ever see you in Creating Keepsakes and Memory Makers, because well .. you are just not commercial" .. WOW! I know right .. but dont worry I laughed at the non-sense and pressed on with my day ..

....but this is what you should do ..

LAUGH, CREATE AND SHARE .. because it is all about what makes you happy in the end.

I feel I need to tell people that she wrote this post days BEFORE the Create My Keepsakes DT was announced...so she didn't write her post because she was bitter about not being picked. I just chose to use her eloquent post because it seems so many of us forget WHY we scrap...we get discouraged because we don't get pubbed or make a DT (which honestly I'm not upset that I didnt' make the CMK DT...I have a pretty full plate and the talent I was up against was HUGE!!). Simply put...I thought her post rocked and I wanted to share. That's all. :)

K...off my soapbox now. And for the OH MY HECK title...here is the picture of the giveaway!! Can you believe I ACTUALLY got it done tonight?? And thank goodness the week is almost over. I've had to work a full week this week..and boy has that been torture!! :)

HA! So tonight when I picked the boys up I noticed that they had gum...I squinted my eyes and asked..where did YOU get gum?? Mathew piped up that Josie gave them a piece...and without missing a beat Auston says...and it has long lasting flavor. ba da bing. :)

So I loaded up a few new goodies in the shop this morning...I'm really happy with the new look I have given my 'old' raffle tickets. They are a bit bigger but I just think they are a better design. SOOOO....I'm thinking I will put together a little prize packet using some of the older stuff and have a giveaway!! Sound good? So for every comment you leave from now until...umm..let's say next Wednesday...you will get an entry..and for every item purchased from the shop you will get an entry. I'll post a picture tomorrow. (yeah..but you all know me..it'll be more like Friday I'm sure!!). I'm going to be posting some more tomorrow morning...so be sure to check back. So here are my Valentine Raffle tickets...I just love 'em. :)

And I didn't make the CMK DT...although to be totally truthful I wasn't expecting to. But their application process was a blast and I had so much fun with it!! I just have gotten into kitting stuff up anyway so it just worked for me...plus...I got 3 layouts done so I certainly cannot complain!! You NEED to read this post though...what an AWESOME advice...LOVE IT!! And yes...I still have 2 layouts to scan and post from Saturday!! UGH. Thank goodness Random Chaos is back...or else I wouldn't feel the need to scrap!!

I SERIOUSLY need to clean and organize my scrap space. I feel like it's all run amuck and it's buggin' the heck out of me. I need to simplify AGAIN. It's all the stuff I collect to make other stuff that gets in my way. ANYWAY.

this morning I woke up with a head cold. I HATE that feeling...just stumbling out of my dream (which was WEIRD btw) and trying to breathe only to realize that half my nose is plugged up. Then noticing that my throat is sore. Start to sit up only to feel like my eyes are going to pop out of my head and that my ears ache. *sigh* So I'm crabby today, and not feeling well..slightly whiney and did I mention crabby?? You know what ALWAYS makes me feel better when I am sick? Dairy Queen. Yes folks..that is pretty much my solution for everything..no WONDER I had 25lbs to lose. :)

So anyway. I have a couple more Auston stories to share and I need to write them down before I forget because...stinkin' funny stuff right here. :)

So Saturday night when we FINALLY saw the train arrive...we were standing outside. It was a nice brisk 15 below zero...friggin' cold is what it was. The train is pulling up and we are moving like a herd of cows. I hear Auston start screaming at the top of his lungs. I look over and he has these huge crocodile tears rolling down his face and is STILL screaming. I said...bean..what's wrong?? He just screams...I'm thorry, I'm thorry. I look behind him and notice that on the metal rail there is a small round spot that is nice and clean..free of frost. *sigh* Yes..he did it AGAIN. Twice in 3 days. I said...Auston..did you stick your tongue to the metal again?? He just screamed back...I'm thorry I'm thorry..it hurths it hurths. I'm really hoping that he won't do it again. A couple days later I notice that he's picking his tongue and it is just coated in little white blisters. Poor guy. I guess he must have thought it was a fluke the first time around!!

My mom bakes...a lot. Well Auston was her little helper...he stayed in the kitchen with grama and just baked up a storm. One recipe called for mini marshmallows so those were out on the counter. Auston looked at them and then told my mom...you know grama, when we go to grama Christie's house we get to roast the BIG marshmallows. My mom nodded and said..well that's nice. She said he got very serious and asked...grama, can't you afford the big marshmallows??? bahahahaahahaha I was rolling when she told me...but once she got back into the kitchen I heard Auston say...grama...you weren't sposed to TELL my mom!! That boy cracks me up.

So ya'll must be wondering why I only tell you stories about Auston. Well...I'll tell you a story about Mathew. Yesterday he was mad about something or another and screamed at me...I just HATE this family..it's the worst ever and I wish I was never in it. *sigh* Does that answer any questions? He's 8. What am I going to do when he's a teenager? He is SO full of anger. I tried to explain his attitude to my mom and she finally figured it out when we spent the Christmas break with her. He just doesn't let me LOVE him. I can't hug or kiss him...I can't joke with him. He wants absolutely nothing to do with me. It's a horrible feeling and I really don't know what to do to make it better. I feel guilty...because I always feel like I'm hugging Auston and playing with him..but he LET'S me...Mathew just shuts me out. Any ideas? Suggestions?? *sigh*

I have some new ideas for the shop...just gotta get them created. And I have some bitties still sitting here that I have yet to photograph and list. I'm a lazy bum. Plain and simple.

Oh..we did get some semi good news today. Although I really am still crabby. :) Shawn will more than likely be hired on with the rigs in February!! Woohooo!! I'm not holding my breath because we are so unlucky...but I would love to hope that this will work out for us. That means that probably March ish we will be moving home...as we'll have to stay here probably a good month while he's working just so we can catch up. The problem is now..there is no place to live in that town. And I'm not even joking.

Okay..I've rambled a lot huh? Have a great night and I will chat tomorrow. I have a couple layouts to post too. And I'm STILL crabby. :)

Holy Snow!

Seriously it's NUTS out there! We haven't had this much snow since 1996 (as far as I can remember anyway!). Our yard is literally filled with snow...3.5' to be almost exact!! I had big hopes of going to Costco but I can't even get out of my drive!! Shawn went to borrow a snowblower and ended up getting stuck. *sigh* It's nuts....seriously crazy! And to top it off..I don't think our heater is working...I try to turn it up and I don't hear the furnace kick on. Hopefully I'm wrong because I'm not sure what I can do!!

So I just found this...and the UofM Griz cheerleaders are in the final 2 for Paula Abdul's cheerleading bowl. Here's a little snippet if you want to watch...Here. I went to the University of Montana and have never been a Griz fan..well football anyway as I hate football. (they lost the championship this year too...but they always seem to make it so that's cool). But to see that the cheerleaders are in the final two..that's awesome. It's great to see Montana recognized...it seems that we are always forgotten about...or people still think we're nothing but a bunch of cowboys and indians! ;)

AND...now for my New Years challenge. :) Those of you who know me know that I put this challenge up EVERY YEAR!! So why stop now?? My challenge for you is to create a layout describing your goals for the New Year. I pulled out my goals layout from 2008 and I see that I only accomplished one of them (my weight loss). So hopefully I can accomplish my goals this year!! Make sure to post a link in the comment section. You have the whole month of January to get it done. :) I will send a rak to the winner (randomly drawn). And I'll post my layout soon!! Happy New Year!!

Create My Keepsake DT Call

Wow...has anyone noticed that I haven't blogged in TEN DAYS??!! That's what happens when you are in the sticks (aka the folks ranch) with no computer. bahahaahahahaa I have some hilarious stories to share with you...the one quick one happened tonight. Auston was sitting on the counter talking to me...he went to jump off and his pant leg caught on the knob of the cupboard...he basically fell straight down into the floor. Yeah...no worries..that's not the funny part. :) Poor kid just cried and cried...I asked if he was okay and he shook his head...I asked if he wanted me to rockee him and he nodded (yay! do you know how long it's been since he let me rock him??!!). So we are rocking for what seems forever...I flip the TV on to NCIS and he says..mom..I don't want to watch NCIS. I then ask him what he wants to watch. He sighs really huge and replies..I don't know...I bumped my thinking part. :) Okay..well *I* thought it was funny...cuz I'm the mom that's why. tee hee

So I'm not sure why I decided to try out for this DT. I honestly really don't have any thoughts of actually MAKING IT. For one thing...I'm dated...but I've already gone over that one. My style is old but it's MINE so that's okay. And for another...omgosh...you should SEE the entries that are posted...these girls are hella talented. BUT...the application process really intrigued me..and since I love to put kits together anyway...I thought heck..its' up my alley. :) Oh and not only that but I'm a HUGE fan of rejection. *snort*

So the rules are as follows: Create a kit from your personal stash of scrap booking supplies. Including…but not limited to…the 8 following categories: 3 cardstock, 6 patterned papers, 1 alpha, 1 rubons, bling/brads/buttons, chipboard/rubber charms/flowers, stickers/die-cut shapes/journaling cards, and ribbon/trim.

Now I had a hard time with the rules...I pretty much followed it to a T but I noticed that some girls threw in like 2 or 3 alphabets and also did brads AND buttons. *gasp..I know!!* I didn't want to waver too much and I hope I did it okay. It would totally be like me to mess up the rules. *slaps head* **edited to add...I just was rereading to check for spelling errors and what not and I see the phrase that says..but not limited too!! OMG...I'm SUCH a dork!!**

Here is Auston during the 4th of July..love the lighting..love these photos. :)

And these pictures are of my grampa when he was a boy. Over Christmas I was able to go through some of the few photos from his childhood and he tried to recall dates as close as he could. I learned a ton and I cannot wait to scrap the rest of the photos!!

There...it went back to normal. Weird. Boy am I so not tech savvy...do NOT ask me for internet help okay?? Okay. Alright then...this is Mathew...the day we went to Woodland Park to just hang out and of course...it was perfect for photo ops. He was especially pleasing when it came to the can you do this phrase. :)

And with my scraps I created this 8x8 layout. As a gift for my daycare gal I create 2 pages per month for the first year of lil' Ambria's life. I enjoy being able to create some girly pages. :)
And that's it...I actually was going to make myself a dayplanner but ran out of time. Did I tell you that I tripped over a snowbank this morning? Well I *DID* and I hurt. Of course I automatically tried to catch myself...wrenching my shoulder in the process. so yes...I told you last night that you wouldn't hear from me again for a week right? Well..it's 7pm...12 hours after I was supposed to be on the train. It's running a bit late. (ya think?) And now it's been pushed back until 9:15pm. How the heck does a train get delayed for 14 HOURS? I could have driven home and back in that time. *sigh* Crazy. So..we'll leave again (we've already been to the train depot twice today) at 8pm and hopefully THIS time the train will actually be here. So...I'll pull into Malta at roughly 4am. Good thing my folks get up at 5!! lol So much for this being a fun and educational experience for the boys! Merry Christmas!

After we found out the train had been delayed...we decided to go out to breakfast. On the way there I was panicking because I WAS holding onto Auston's blankets (he has 2 that he 'rocks' with every night...and is very distraught if he doesn't have them...and no...I see no reason for alarm for the whole blanket thing as I had one until I was a sophomore in high school...and I turned out okay. *snort*). Anyway...we get out of the truck and I open the hatch and luckily they were laying in the very back. Whew!! We start walking to the cafe and Shawn is laughing saying..oh you would have been in BIG trouble if you would have left those somewhere!! So I asked bean how sad he would have been if I would have lost his blankies. Without skipping a beat he says..."Well..I wouldn't be very happy." OH MY GOSH....we were cracking up. It was so funny because his tone was SO serious. Anyway....it might not be funny for you all but it's one that we'll be telling for years to come. :)

no catchy title tonight...that's kinda my mood today. Just really down in the dumps...that horrible feeling of being totally hopeless...bottom of the bucket...lower than low. :) Let's see what other phrases I can come up with...nah...I won't be a debbie downer.

So I am a little sad...I'm finished with the Twilight Series...I actually finished the last book on Sunday. 4 books in 4 days. And it's not like that's ALL I did. :) We had a birthday party on Saturday and were at the bowling alley for 4 hours. And Friday I was at the school all day. I guess I can say that all the really good genes (ie...incredible musical talent, artistry, beauty, sheer talent) skipped me and went right to my sisters but I was fortunate enough to get the super fast speedy reading gene from my father...oh and the acne and the social retardation..oh and lets not forget the sarcasm shall we? Boy...if you are still reading...I need to send you a cookie...I'm AWFUL tonight!! lol Anyway...I'm super sad that the story is over. It was amazing....and yes...I totally felt bad for Jacob until the last book anyway. Talk about cry like a baby. Good grief. Shawn was laughing at me...but then again..he's NOT a reader so he doesn't understand how you can totally get sucked into a book. *sigh* I'm just really sad it's over. And I'm super curious to see the movie...to see if they did the book justice. Has anyone seen it yet?? Thoughts??

So a few hours ago I hear this: i un ih yuck. I rush outside and Auston is bawling...standing on top of my summer tires...hanging onto the top of the swingset. Shawn is inside getting a glass of warm water. You guessed it. I felt so bad for him...hanging there....with his tongue stuck to the swingset. He was trying to lick the frost. And...he insisted it would never happen again. Poor guy!!

Oh and another funny story....when my mom was here...she was driving down this one street when she stopped. I was like..mom...why are you stopping...you don't need to stop here. She points over at the stop sign. I start laughing...I'm like...mom...that is the PEDESTRIAN stop sign. She just said...oh..I was wondering why it was so small. *slaps head* :)

I also noticed that I have almost 100 sales at my shop!! How cool is that?? I have something VERY special for the 100th sale. I figure that's a big number and deserves to be celebrated right?? Right.

Oh and another thing...ACBailey's home office will be closed from the 19th until the 5th of January. Everything (including free shipping day) will be shipped on January 6th...so just wanted to forewarn you.

Ummm..that's it. I will do my drawing for item of choice (excluding kits/bitties) on Thursday...so I can mail on Friday...as on Saturday the boys and I are hopping the train and heading to my folks'. I CANNOT WAIT!! (don't forget to leave a shout out to get in the drawing)

yup...I'm on book three now...I've read a book a day. And yesterday I probably would have started book 3 but I was at the school helping at their craft bazaar all day. It's INSANE. And I admit that I'm almost sad....because by he end of the weekend the story will be finished..and THEN WHAT?? It's just so tough...I mean the whole thing between Edward and Jacob..my heart just breaks for Jacob. *sigh* Okay...back to book three...just wanted to check in with everyone. :)

it's 7:54pm. My truck is running..warming up as the windows are frosted over. Auston just got out of the tub and I'm rushing him to get his jammies on. Their bedtime is 8:00pm..SHARP. Every night. Except tonight. Shawn is at the archery shop and here I am...typing away..willing the windows of my truck to clear up quickly so we can rush outside...into the darkness...boys in their jammies and me...with no other thought but that I need to GET TO BORDERS!!. So I started reading Twilight last night....yes...I had to see what all the fuss was about. Well about 100 pages later (and my bath water turned cold) I decided I better get my butt to bed and stop reading!! It's REALLY good already and I can't wait to sit down and start reading again. So as I was laying in bed thinking about the book my mind began to wander. And what did I think about?? Why Card Catalogs of course. I mean..isn't that the only LOGICAL thing to think about when you are lying in bed trying to fall asleep? *snort*

Yes...card catalogs. What ever happened to them? I really NEED to know the answer to this question. I remember card catalogs fondly....the smell of the cards...that faint musty paper smell...and how they felt when I ran my hand over the whole drawer full. I LOVED card catalogs...loved looking up my book...loved the big rack of drawers all neatly labeled and in order. So with all the technology there is...we no longer have a need for card catalogs. We now just type in the book we are looking for in the computer and out pops the section and row we need to look in for our book. ***I can see some of you are just NOW thinking...oh YEAH...a card catalog...NOW i know what she's talking about!!***

Okay..that's it for now. I know..it's a pretty in depth thought. :) If you have an answer...let me know. I would love to know where these card catalogs went...I would LOVE to have one...just to have. How cool would that be??

well....I pretty much slept ALL day today. Literally. Not quite sure why although I think it may have had something to do with this dang headache that I have. And my hand..I still can't quite feel it...it's the strangest thing...not being able to really feel your hand. I'm hoping that will go away soon.

that I couldn't make it to the Scrap Pack on Saturday night!! OH MY GOSH!! I just heard the report and it was an AMAZING turnout!! 16...yes...SIXTEEN showed up for class day and then another SIX girls came for Girls Night Out!! How freakin' COOL IS THAT??!! I offered up a Pink Paislee paper pack as a drawing for everyone who came (and brought a friend they got an extra entry in the drawing!!). But just that it was SO fun and everyone enjoyed themselves...AND...had a couple orders placed with ACBailey as well!! I'm just SO glad to have the chance to show people that you can get mainstream scrapbook supplies at a good price right here!! Just SO danged excited...not bad for 3 girls doing this 10 hours a month eh?? :) I can't wait for next month...I already have my classes up on the site....so hopefully I can get some interest.

Other than that..had my appointment today in Polson, I'm looking fine. :) Still a bit sore but that's to be expected. Just kinda hanging out...want to do SO MUCH but not really able so will just keep plugging along and do what I can. :) Sure wish Shawn would go to work so I can rest in peace! baahahahaahahaha

AND...I'm going to be having a special for the shop soon. So be watching!!

so that's a good thing. :) I didn't throw up once either...so that is a REALLY great thing. THey put a patch behind my ear to help with that..and I think it worked. I'm pretty drugged up and the one medicine makes me hallucinate...I'm not even kidding. I was going potty and I look at the rug in front of the sink and it's MOVING...like little ants are underneath it and pulling it along. I kept blinking and rubbing my eyes but even that wouldn't make the rug stop moving. Talk about WEIRD.

Yesterday I couldn't feel my arm at all...it was literally rubber...due to the nerve block they put on my arm Right now though...I have some serious pain going on and I should be laying down but when I lay down I really dwell on the pain..so trying to keep busy although my eyes are all funky. Apparently my shoulder was so fun of scar tissue that he couldn't even get his 4mm instrument inside.

So I just put up pictures of my January class kits. And remember...if you like a kit you can certainly buy one without taking the class. I changed it up a bit to accomodate anyone online that likes them. :) You can purchase them HERE. Although I must tell you that I won't ship until the 5th...but you still have to prepay/sign up for them beforehand so I can order the materials. :)

that I listed in the shop tonight. A couple Christmas ittie bitties and a couple new calendars. The vintage flair 2009 calendar turned out pretty good if I might say so..and the bracket date jotters I think are super fun. Now if only I had time to SCRAP so I could use some of my new goodies!! lol Oh and can I just say that I HATE that it's dark when I get home?? I have no light to take pictures and they SUCK!! I will end up redoing these guys.

Oh and no...not an overnight stay. My mom is coming up on Thursday and taking me to Missoula where she wants to finish her Christmas shopping and then at 6:30am I go under the knife. This will be my FIFTH surgery. No kidding. And everytime I freak out and cry. I hate anesthesia...not only because I'm horribly sick afterward but I always have this thought that I could just not wake up and I would never know. *sigh* That part sucks...I always have tears running down my face before I'm knocked out. But then I wake up...yakking like crazy. :) (yakking as in throwing up NOT talking!! teehee)

Alrighty then...I'm off to take a hot bath..my back is SO stinkin' sore tonight for some reason. So have a stellar night ya'll!

December Sweet Pea Scraps...and stuff

Have you ever noticed I say that a lot? ...and stuff. It's because my title is more than just the one thing...I usually have more to ramble on about...and stuff just seems fitting right? Right. Okay...now that I've got that under control. :)

Wanted to show ya'll what I did with the awesome December Sweet Pea Scraps kit. BTW...did you all have a great Thanksgiving??
We went to the inlaws where they have very SLOW, very torturous dial up (hence my lack of posts in the last few days!!). It was okay...nothing too exciting...I had planned on doing WAY more scrappin' than I did though. Which is kinda a bummer since my surgery is THIS FRIDAY! I know. It's totally sneaking up on me...I have SO much to do still!! Work has to be caught up and my house in order as my mom will be here early Thursday afternoon. *sigh* And it's already Monday night! EEEK!

WOW...look at me go...gettin' on a tangent there. :) So ANYWAY....my December layouts using the Sweet Pea Scraps kit. Hope you enjoy!! :) AND...I found these coasters in the Joann's dollar spot and decided to make little wall hangings with them...thought they turned out pretty cute especially since I'm WAY project challenged. :)

I'm really excited to announce that, we, we being the Scrap Pack, are going to have our very first weekend scrapbook retreat!! I'm SOOOO excited and will be announcing details SOON!!

Today I'm busy working on Sweet Pea Scraps layouts...as well as the rest of my GitRDun class kit...and uploading some new stuff to the shop. Oh..and doing laundry and cleaning in between. :) I know...exciting times eh? But I really have SO much to do before my surgery..and with next weekend being Thanksgiving we'll be in Missoula all weekend long...then the Friday after that is the big day. My mom will be here on Thursday and we'll drive to Missoula. OIY...it's coming up fast isn't it??

Dude..this week has just been DRAGGING on...seriously one of the slowest weeks evah. Wonder why that is??

But had to share my layout of the week....from Jenny. Isn't this the CUTEST layout?? I love it...I love that adorable photo and of course my random date jotter right there on the side of the picture looks pretty cute as well...but DANG...those TREES (which were made by the ever so talented Julie)!!! Do they not totally just make that layout POP? Love how they are arranged and love how they go so perfect with Jenny's photo and layout idea. The scalloped edges and the title rock as well. Fantastic layout Jenny!!

Work has been fairly busy as I'm trying to train someone to do a portion of my job while I'm out for 3 weeks after my surgery. It's SO tough teaching someone else how to do something that you've done for SO dang long. And I'm a little type A. *snort* So things have to be just so or I totally freak out. Well...not TOTALLY...but I get a little crabby...that much I will admit. :) Just hoping that things will be fairly smooth so when I come back and only have THREE DANG DAYS to do year end I will be fine. I'm sure I'll be having someone bring me work home while I'm off so that I don't get too far behind. Kinda sucks that it's my right shoulder...wonder how well I'll be able to write/type? And then I'm freakin' out because what about the shop?? EEEK. So I need to start cutting like a mad woman so that I have plenty of stock in case people go crazy and just buy buy buy from the shop. Okay..so that was a little fantasizing there...but a girl can dream right?? :)

Before I sign off (nope sorry...no last minute words of wisdom tonight folks..the tylenol PM hasn't kicked in quite yet)...I need to tell ya'll to head on over to Renee's blog...as she's having a little Christmas swap. which probably doesn't surprise ANY of my blog readers as I'm certainly not the most prompt person...which is ODD...because honestly...some aspects of my life are VERY organized and mapped out..while others...holy smuck...everywhere. Seriously.
So my layout for Random Chaos AND for the GitRDun Club for the Scrap Pack. I'm really excited how it turned out..AND I used one of my new list jotters...cool huh? So how I'm working it is like this...(I was REALLY hoping to have a picture of the kit tonight but I was doing a spreadsheet and packing a couple orders and quite frankly...I ran out of time!!...maybe tomorrow!!). The kit features Bo Bunny Daily Grind collection, cardstocks, American Craft glitter thickers and tons of embellies. PLUS...I will have a print out sheet with 4 sketches including sample layouts. So if you just want to GitRDun...4 layouts that is..then this will be perfect for you. :) I have only 2 kits on hand but you can order one and it will be delivered/mailed before my surgery on Dec. 5th. Anyway..you can see it on the Scrap Pack site ...although I haven't gotten the picture up yet..and will post it here as well. Boy do I ramble. *sigh*

So my show was on tonight...I totally LOVE that show. Privileged. Megan totally cracks me up...she says the quirkiest things. I think she reminds me a little of myself...except I generally TRY to hold those conversations in my head where no one else can hear me. tee hee

Random Chaos...and Sunday night

I tried out for Random Chaos in the hopes that it would make me scrap during the week. Ummm...yeah...that so did not happen. Instead...it never fails, that I wait until Sunday to start my layout and then between grocery shopping, finishing up the laundry and hanging out with the boys I do a bit here and there. Then about now (9pm) I finally get it sent off to Janelle. Poor thing...she probably would like to strangle me. And then I always say to myself...self...this week you are going to send it in SO early that Janelle is going to have a heart attack. But luckily...I am so compassionate and really don't want to cause Janelle to have a heart attack...so THAT must be why I wait until Sunday. (so glad we got that one figured out!!). I'm really excited to reveal my Random Chaos layout for a few reasons...
a) I really like how it turned out
b) I used one of my new list journaling jotters!!
c) it is the first layout in the GitRDun club that I will be able to show you!!

That's part of what was up my sleeve...just putting together the next GitRDun club. It will be one of the classes I offer every month for the Scrap Pack, but am also trying to make it so that if someone online would like to give it a whirl that everything is included for them as well. It's basically an easy way to get four layouts done every month. You will be provided with all the materials...and I will include sketches and sample layouts as well. I'm really trying to get this out there for all the people who don't have the hours upon hours of time to sit and scrap and just want to try to get caught up!! I think that I would love a kit like this because if nothing else...I can just scraplift the sample!! So...we'll see how it goes....and tomorrow I will unveil the first layout/sketch for this kit.

I am SO stinkin' excited to show you all my new journaling jotters. :) I am SO happy with how they turned out and I cannot WAIT to use one myself. (is that weird? Please tell me it's not!! lol). Anyway...my stupid photo editing program gave me an error so I only have 2 sets listed in the shop as of this very minute..BUT...I have EIGHT different color options for these guys!! Woohoo!! And please...if they suck...do burst my bubble as I don't want to be all excited about something that isn't really that great. *giggle*

I know I have been an awful blogger...sheesh...which is kinda weird because I was SO ON A ROLL there for a bit. :) Blogging almost every day...even if my normal plethora of wisdom wasn't present. But I'm back..and you can just count your lucky stars. :) Bahahaahaha...oh I crack myself up. So I totally gotta ask...when you read blogs and emails and the like...do you put a voice to it? (or am I going to make ya'll think I'm even WEIRDER than you already think I am??). Cuz when I write I'm constantly saying things in a little strange voice...depending on the tone or mood I'm typing in. Anyway...my friend Katie rocks because she always READS my stuff like I say it...even if it's in some high squeaky voice or a s-l-o-w drawl. Okay..I'm scaring you...I'm sorry. :)

So I decided...that once a week I'm going to feature someone who has used stuff from the shop. I'm going to put their layout up on my blog for you all to see. And that special someone (I mean HELLLOOOO..they have to be special if they are on MY blog...and remember that rockstar thing? YEAH..I know...that's me.)...will get some special goodies from moi just for allowing me to post it. I know in the beginning I said that everyone that sent in something but to be honest...I'm getting so many that well...they might totally overshadow MY stuff...and I just cannot have that can I? *giggle* Don't be discouraged if you don't see your layout up here yet..I might be saving it for something special cuz I always have stuff up my sleeves. *wink wink*

So the lucky scrapper today is Danica. She sent in this layout using TWO of the things from my shop...the notebook journaling jotters AND the months of the year raffle tickets. How cute is this layout?? Thanks so much for sharing and your goodies will be in the mail tomorrow!!

Soooo...just in case anyone is wondering why I've been absent for so dang long....I'll tell ya...kinda. Has life just ever overwhelmed ya to the point you are a blubbering potatoe head?? No? Well...I was a complete potato (is it with an E or without??) head the last week or so. And Tuesday I had a COMPLETE meltdown..it was not pretty, people. I stayed home from work yesterday and was able to clear my head a bit and I'm happy to say I think I may be okay. Heck..it's nothing that months of counseling can't fix. tee hee No seriously...just had a rough patch...all is good now.

In other news....Auston is now on ADHD medication. He is much more severe than his brother..according to the 'chart' which is kinda surprising to me. I wonder if I'm more tolerant of him because he's my 'baby'?? But he had a great day at school today...kept telling his teacher it was because he took medicine that makes him 'be good.' *sigh* I really have to tell him over and over it's not because he's BAD. So hopefully this will make a big difference in him. Parent teacher conferences were tonight and she told me how bright he is...that his math is just amazing. She also said it was a good time to do the meds as what we were doing just wasn't working and she just didn't want this to start to effect him socially. Mathew had a good review too although I think we have a C student on our hands. This is very difficult for me as well..I was NEVER a C student. Just makes me realize I really need to work more with him. He's SO smart...but he doesn't apply himself...he's lazy. He had so many answers on his tests wrong just because he didn't read or just flat didn't do it. So that's something we need to work on.

Tomorrow I have the pleasure of getting my lonely wisdom tooth pulled. Oh yes...I'm all about creating as much pain as I can for myself between now and the New Year. This and then my shoulder surgery...I think I am well on my way for a month of misery. GO JENN! *snort*

I'm really excited for this weekend...I have some big plans for the shop...so stay tuned!! Okay...I'm off...to read some more and head to bed. :) Have a groovy night!!

I can't believe it's been a WEEK since I've blogged last. That really isn't like me is it?? Well...mostly because I was trying to get ready for the craft fair this last weekend which was EXHAUSTING!! And trying to finish up the special order for 3 Scrappy Boys. Now that both are done I think I'll be able to BREATHE for a bit. :) Have some new bitties envisioned to put in the shop so I can't wait to get them made...AND have a couple kit ideas so want to get those created as well. My surgery is on the 5th of December so I have lots to accomplish before then!! Anyway...be on the lookout for the new goodies soon...and I will be doing another giveaway soon!! Sounds fun...but honestly...the random things I'm going to tell ya...most people probably already know...so if it comes as no surprise...move on...just move right along. :)

1. I *heart* tattoos. Oh yes yes yes I do. :) I have 4 of my own and if I had the guts and courage I would love to get a full sleeve. But alas...I'm a chicken at heart and thus..my arm remains pasty white. :) I also find tattoos on guys extremely sexy...which is why Mr. Husband has his own as well. *giggle*

2. I grew up on an 80,000 acre cattle ranch and LOVE to eat raw hamburger. I figured those kinda go hand in hand righto?? My mom used to slap my hand as I would always dip into the burger while she was cooking dinner. Now mind you...I do not eat raw store bought hamburger as I don't like my cow mixed in with other cows. :) But my daddy is a hormone/steroid free (aka organic) rancher and I know where my meat comes from. :)

3. I DESPISE the sound of people clipping their fingernails. I just prefer to bite mine..heck..it's WAY more sanitary and heeelllooooo...have you seen handbitten nails? They look awesome. *rolls eyes* But no really...the sound of clipping nails drives me absolutely nuts...the guys at my work purposely stand in front of my desk and clip their nails. They love me....I just know they do.

4. I am REALLY shy. It takes me quite awhile to warm up to people...although by about the 4th time I've seen you, you will not get me to shut up but until then you probably think I'm a snot. I swear I'm not. I'm just...ummm...socially retarded? Peoplephobic? I don't like crowds either..in fact...I'm the person at the party that is sitting in the corner people watching. Both my siblings graduation parties you could find me locked in a bedroom reading a book as I couldn't handle the people...although I was related to most of them.

5. Wow...7 things?? Really? Hmmmm.....so I went and asked my husband who proceeded to stretch and do lung exercises. (apparently he was getting at the point that there is a LOT weird and random about me...no worries...I flicked him). I microwave my ice cream. Just for 20 seconds..just enough to get it a little soft so that I can mix it in with my chocolate syrup. I love it when it's a little milkshakey on the edges of my bowl. It's SO yummy. (I'm SO betting that you microwave your ice cream next time...just to see if I'm right)

6. I did a ton of research on religions and with that came a complete questioning of my own faith. Currently I'm on a hiatus. I know when I'm ready God will welcome me with open arms...but right now I'm struggling a bit.

7. I'm REALLY sarcastic. I know..can you BELIEVE IT?? I don't mean to be...it just kinda slips out.

Not that it was anything special but....I'll fill ya in on how it went.
I WOKE UP AT 7:31 THIS MORNING!! AAAAHHHHHHH and that's pretty much how my day went all dang day long!! :) I must also note that we have to leave the house by 8am in order to get to school in time. Of course....my angelic boys *snort* were such great listeners and got dressed right away for me. Yes...I'm SO lying through my teeth there. ha! So I jumped in the shower (as I cannot wake up without one!) and did NOT wash my hair so yes...I'm sporting a 2 day old pony. Can I just say that I look smokin' today? baahahahahhaha I am pleased to announce that we did make it to school in time. **insert crowd cheering here**

So work went well..I actually got a lot accomplished. Really trying to get everything caught up and in order before my surgery. And it's month end tomorrow so I'll have a super crazy day but that's good. I love my job..and for that I feel very fortunate. Heck..I feel very fortunate to HAVE a job at this point. :)

Then I rush to get the boys from school because in celebration of Red Ribbon Week our theatre was showing Horton Hears a Who for FREE. I was so excited to surprise the boys with this!! And I really wanted to make the 4 o'clock showing which means I had to GO REALLY FAST as school is 10 miles outside of town. :) Needless to say...I ended up talking with Auston's teacher for way too long. He had a bad day today. She's SUCH an amazing teacher...remind me to talk about that more...K? Cuz it's really important. But I'm already rambling and I'm not sure what the attention span of my blog readers is...soooo....carrying on....

The show was SOLD OUT when we got there...but they were nice enough to give us tickets for the 6:30pm showing...I took 'em. Skip forward an hour...Mathew decides he would rather play with E the neighbor boy instead of going to the show. Gee...how uncool am I that my 8 year old wants to hang out with his buddy instead of going to the show with his MOM! Sheesh.....I didn't think this was supposed to start this early?!! So E's mom and I switched kids for the night. I took the older sister and Mathew stayed at their house and all was right with the world. BTW...that show is freakin' hilarious. I was laughing so hard through the whole thing. It helped too that I had this adorable little girl beside me who was 2 (but talked SOOO well!)...and she pretty much kept me entertained.

And I have some super cool news to share. :) Some of my things (like FOUR different ones!!) from the shop are going to be in the January 3 Scrappy Boys kit!! I am SO NOT KIDDING HERE PEOPLE!! She thinks I am a rockstar. *giddy giggle* She actually said that...if you don't believe me..just ask her. I rock. HA! *stickin' tongue out* So at least one person thinks I'm cool. Just gotta not let my head swell...that could be a huge issue when I have to go through a door. :)

just finished up this layout for the November Sweet Pea Scraps kit. Funny thing is..I kept taking things OFF this layout...I kinda liked it kept really simple. So here it is...in all it's simple-ness. :) It's basically about how Auston is totally up for anything. My dad asked him if he wanted to sit on the sheep..he was like..okay grampa..whatever. :) He's so willing to try anything new and never be scared...I hope he can keep those traits...but ony use them in a GOOD way of course!! tee hee

And I guess I need to say sorry...no..actually nevermind..I don't. :) I was going to apologize if I offended anyone with my post below..but then I realized...*slaps head* this is MY blog! Bahahahaahahaha. Honestly...I don't watch the news...I don't watch a lot of TV period. But this video wasn't a 'smearing' video as I didn't get it off a McCain site. (did anyone actually notice that I said I wasn't overly fond of McCain???). Anyway..there is nothing in that video that says..vote for McCain...so...well..whatever. But through my research I also did watch Obama speak...and there were 2 separate things that did bother me...one where he said that he has a 6 and 9 year old daughter...how he's going to teach them morals and values but if someday they make a 'mistake' he doesn't want them to be punished for that 'mistake' with a baby. Okay..so...ummm...there is a thing called adoption?? The second one was he was actually defending himself against an obvious McCain campaign where little kids were singing the alphabet. He stated how they used this song and said that Obama wanted to teach sex education to 5 year olds. The crowd giggled...as did he. Then he said, but it's gotta be done. Ummm...yeah...I don't think my 6 year old needs to learn about sex right now...holy moly...he still thinks his winky is funny. :)

Do you remember when the movie Dirty Dancing came out?? I do. Oh my gosh...my friends and I rented that sucker as soon as we could and snuck over to Cindy's house to watch it while her parents were gone. I remember us pausing it when Patrick Swayze got out of bed..hoping for a glimpse of..something...anything. The point was...it was a total riskay movie...and we were giddy with excitement watching something so naughty and bad!! Now...Dirty Dancing is mild...you get more than that on prime time television. In fact...tonight my 8 year old asked me if that girl (on tv) was a lesbian. Yes..my jaw about hit the floor. I didn't even KNOW what a lesbian was until my freshman year in college for crying out loud!! These are some of the issues I have. These things I think are MY job as a parent to teach my child...not TV...not school...not the government...but ME. I don't know. Honestly...the world scares me. I'm worried for my children....and my grandchildren. What kind of world is it that we live in now where our children know way too much at their age. Where we can't say a prayer at graduation anymore as we might offend those who don't believe...yet it's okay for another religion to bow down at noon to worship their god. See I dont' get that. I don't get the huge contradiction that is happening in our society. I think we have gotten so far away from what is right and what is wrong...we make all these little exceptions to please everyone...but in the end it's going to cause serious chaos.

Okay..rant over. this video. And wow is it powerful. I sat here...at my desk...sobbing. Tears literally running down my face. The thought of this made my heart break. It made me remember our two lost babies and how I felt when others were purposely aborting their pregnancies when we were trying so hard to keep ours. But this...this is awful. How can anyone support this? The voting decision was difficult for me this year...I'm not overly fond of McCain...but have always been more on the republican side. I watched an advertisement (the one that is on 24/7 right now) for Obama and I have to admit that I like a lot of his ideas. BUT...this video...tipped me over. I cannot morally vote for someone who wants to make THIS legal. They have no voice..they have no choice and they aren't even being given the opportunity to have either. I cry for them...

So...the November kit for Sweet Pea Scraps is so cool. I really love it. Perfect for those fall photos...and perfect for those heritage ones!! Here is a layout I did for Random Chaos this week. That's my grampa Foran. I really miss him too. Especially when I'm reading a really great book and want someone to talk to about it. That was our thing. Grampa was ALWAYS reading a book...always. :) I would come home from school and he would be in his chair reading away. Usually I would just grab my book and plop on the couch and we would sit there and read together (until grama came in and turned on Wheel of Fortune!). He would read a book...then give to me..and I would read it and then we would discuss. It was just our thing. He passed away when I was pregnant with Auston. But he was one of 3 people who accepted me unconditionally when my mom married my dad. My dad of course was one...and my great aunt Ethel was one and my grampa was the other. I inherited a lot of his books and I reread them occasionally. I always inherited a LOT of pictures that if the rest of that family knew I had would be FURIOUS!! baahahahahahahaha I LOVE that. :)

I'm off to post a challenge on the vine...and it has to deal with the layout here...so go check it out. The girls always give such amazing prizes for the challenge winners...seriously GREAT prizes!! So...thank you goes out to Miss Kim. :) I installed Firefox and since then I have not had my internet just shut me down one time since!! YAY! THANK YOU!! Seriously...I thought I was going to go batty!!

Yesterday we had a great day...the boys and I. First we went to the skate park and played...then we went to the park and played in the leaves and climbed some trees. The boys were super in letting me get some really nice fall shots. :) I took pictures until my camera battery went kaput on me!!

Right now I'm just majorly cleaning my house...getting into the things that have been neglected for awhile that really NEED to be cleaned out...like the boys' craft cabinet. Yikes! But it's nice and neat and organized now. Really want to go through their toybox and weed out some of the things they no longer play with...but not sure if I'm up for that project today or not. Still have major laundry to do but that's about it. Need to work on more bitties for the shop and scrap more for Sweet Pea Scraps. And...I tried to take pictures of my layouts today....the egg hunt layout was taking a picture...the john deere green was scanning. However....my sharpening software is at work and I REALLY need to get it installed on my home computer. I'm thinking it looks a little fuzzy...what do you think?? My buttons just aren't scanning that great and honestly...taking a picture is MUCH easier but I don't want to do it if the quality is lacking. *sigh* Gonna keep trying. :)

I'm stomping my feet...and cursing and ugh...I'm getting so frustrated. I'm having MAJOR issues with my internet/computer right now and it's SO very very frustrating!! I've been trying to upload a stupid set of bitties to my etsy shop all night...FINALLY got them uploaded. But every couple of minutes I get this error pop up on my screen:
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. And then my internet just shuts down...deleting everything I just did. Is there anyone out there reading that is somewhat technical and can tell me what the heck it means? Is it maybe my internet?? (I do pull from community internet). Anyway...that's one reason I haven't been blogging daily...after a couple times of typing and then losing my work I get frustrated and just turn the stupid computer off.

*sigh*

Anyway. I finally finished a layout I've been working on for about 2 weeks...it's not that it's THAT great or anything...but it seems that I just don't scrap as much as I used to. AND...I don't take near the photos I used to. Bummer huh? I need to get myself on a schedule instead of letting all these other projects overtake my world. I miss scrappin'..and I miss taking pics of my boys.

I'm so glad it's almost Friday....only a few more hours and it'll be the weekend. I have big plans...to scrap. :) And to create more for my etsy shop as I had a big sale day today (which those lucky gals get extra entries into the drawing for Julie's very cool spider embellies!!). Last week she sent me a gift card to Maurices just to cheer me up...AND because my pants have been falling off my butt. :) I think I already mentioned that she had done that...but I was going to wait until I lost that last 10lbs before using it. Well...I used it today and I'm SO excited that I did. I was pumped when I tried on a pair of jeans...a size 9...but still...I was in a 13 just 5 months ago!! My goal is a size 7...and then I think I'll be happy. (HA!..I'll probably NEVER be happy!). Did I tell you that I was on my gazelle last night for an entire HOUR? Boy was I exhausted when I was done...but there is nothing better than how I feel after I work out.

So...here is a picture of me (bahaahaha...I look like I have a tiny little pinhead!!)...23lbs lighter than I was in July. When I look at the picture allI want to do is circle areas that I see that still need improving...like my thighs..ugh..and my love handles...still there! But if I would have taken a before picture to hold it up against...I know I would be really proud of my accomplishments. Still...I want more. :) And just so you know..I'm VERY unphotogenic..and I have a stupid dorky crooked smile that I don't even realize I'm doing. *sigh*

We were going to take the boys to the pumpkin patch today but it's raining. It is officially rain season here although I was hoping it would be a nice day for a family fun day. Needless to say...Shawn went hunting and I'm going to clean the house/do laundry...the boys are picking up their pits. I'm hoping tomorrow it will be nice out so we can take them...I REALLY need some fall pictures as the November Sweet Pea Scraps kit is just screaming for fall pics!! :)

Still gotta get the All About Me class kit put together...I know what I"m going to use just have to put it together and take a photo to share with you all! And be watching for another giveaway..I will start one on Monday. :)

Well today there is no school for the boys...or tomorrow either. So tonight Ethan, the daycare gal's son is having a sleepover...we will see how long THAT lasts. :) I'm certain that Shawn will be taking him home in an hour or so. :)

Going to get a second opinion on my shoulder surgery...my ortho wanted to do both shoulders at one time...and Julie freaked out. :) So hopefully a second opinion will prove to be a good thing. Regardless...my right shoulder is in desparate need of repair...it aches constantly. AND...I have to get my wisdom tooth pulled too! All before the end of the year and the insurance deductible starts over again!!

This has been the longest week EVAH. I swear today feels like Friday. *sigh* Just one more day! Shawn and I are taking the boys to the pumpkin patch..I'm REALLY hoping that we might even get a family photo. We haven't had one since Auston was seven DAYS old!! lol Wish us luck on that one.

So here is my heritage class kit. I'm really excited about it as well. The main kit retails a little over $11 while the addon kit retails for $6.50...you can check them out HERE if you wish to purchase...and sign up for the class. The heritage class is $15.00 which includes all product seen (first photo) plus 2 sketches/sample layouts...and the add on kit is $6.00. and I'm really happy with how it looks!! I dropped the price of it from $25 to $20 (so that's only $5 for my instruction/sketches/layout samples...as there is a little over $15 retail in this bad boy!!)...just because I thought that was a better number to work with. :) The Pink Paislee alphabet stickers are not pictured...but they are included as well. So tell me what you think...would you take a class using these products?? Do you think it's lacking anything? As someone taking the class what would you like to see? Any input is appreciated..and everyone who DOES give me some input will be put in a drawing...for something...not sure what yet but I'll think of something.

Remember that EXCITING NEWS THAT I COULDN'T SHARE? lol Well I can finally reveal it. :) Of course..for those of you not in the Flathead Valley you'll probably be thinking...okay so what's the big deal?? ;) But we are super excited. Ben Franklin has offered to sponsor Kara and I...we will be able to use the empty room in the mall in Whitefish for our classes/crops every month!! We are stoked...and have so many ideas to get people excited...and have FUN and just have a nice, comfortable place to go to scrap. And..technology is great...within just a couple hours I was able to create a website..complete with paypal buttons. :) And if anyone wants a class kit that isn't in the area..you can still get one...it'll come complete with instructions and samples and shipping is free. :) (just using my instructor fee to pay your shipping...the products will all be retail value for you!!). Just have to take some sample photos and get those up but otherwise..it's done. I'm SO stoked!! You can check it out HERE.

Calling all interested parties, Sweet Pea Scraps is looking for new Design Team Members to start in December 2008!!
As a Sweet Pea Scraps Design Team Member you will receive a free monthly kit each month from which we will ask you to complete 6 pages (6 total, not 6 double page spreads) for submission to the monthly gallery. Kits will be shipped to you between the 10th and the 15th of each month and you will have approximately 2 weeks to complete these layouts. Layouts should be completed by the 1st of the following month. You will need to be able to scan and e-mail your layouts to sweetpea@sweetpeascraps.com so they can be loaded onto the design team gallery for the current month.

Unfortunately there is no monetary compensation for your designs, however please know that we respect that these are your original or scraplifted designs and have no intention of profiting from them in any other way than using them to showcase the products in our monthly kits.
We also ask that you participate in our blog challenges. We offer weekly challenges to our members and other scrappers. On average you will need to supply a challenge once a month.

So I went running again tonight...it. was. hard. Oh boy oh boy was it ever!! I thought I was going to die. I haven't been running regularly and tonight was total proof of that. I really really need to get back into it...I still have 10lbs to lose and I havne't lost anything else since I quit running...so apparently that is the trick. Bummer huh? My mom was so sweet..she sent me a $50 gc to Maurices to cheer me up....AND because my pants keep falling off my butt. Except I don't think I"m going to spend it until I lose that last pesky 10lbs!! We'll see.

Today is the start of week FIVE of Shawn not working. It's really starting to take it's toll on our relationship. We have been bickering like no one's business. *sigh* It really stinks! He filled out an application and hopefully will get a job with an oil rig somewhere...keep your fingers crossed for us!!

And I know I promised you some pictures...so here is one of Kara and I...yes, it's fuzzy. It was taken by her 6 year old and he was wobblin' like no one's business. It was pretty funny actually. And then one of our table...I think it turned out pretty nice. We have decided on a name and we are getting a website going which will allow everyone to pay using paypal (since we are requiring prepayment of classes....since we are just little people we have to make sure we don't have a ton of excess product..and I'm totally hoping that won't hurt us...ugh). So be watching for the release of that (I'm hoping within the next day or two!!).

And that's about it...I think I'm actually gonna scrap a little bit tonight....I have some ittie bitties that just need buttons...I should get those finished as well. But I got my scrap area cleaned up again..finally..and I'm hoping to keep it that way. But we all know how THAT goes!! Have a great night!

Tonight...

has been one of tears. I know ya'll are wondering what I can possibly be crying about NOW. Good grief you would think that's all I do. But I just miss her. I STILL miss her. I keep wondering when it's going to get easier....then I think that it's been 6 years since my grampa Foran passed away and 4 since my great aunt Ethel passed away and I STILL miss them too. So I know that it'll take more years yet to dampen the emptiness I feel inside...when I long to just hug my grama....to hear her voice....to smell her fresh baked buns...to have her make me sugar toast cut into 4 sections.

The boys and I just got home from dropping off a rented movie and on the drive home I thought of her. It's weird how I think of her at the most unusual times. And I thought about being at the cemetary and my cousin Ryan and I just hugging each other...feeling each other's grief. When we turned around....everyone was already around the gravesite...and were waiting for us to join them to begin the service. Then it makes me realize I really need to keep in touch with my cousin...because through him we can share so many stories. Boy did she look after us and keep us from getting into more trouble than we should have gotten in to!!

Okay...I must stop. My eyes hurt and my throat aches. It's been 6 months...and I know that it WILL get better...as time goes on.

In happier news...if you get this far anyway!! Our little deal today went super!! Kara and I had a lovely table displayed...there wasn't a TON of traffic but the few people that we saw were super excited about what we are going to be doing!! And now I can probably clue you all in on the news that I WAS SO EXCITED TO SHARE!! Ben Franklin is sponsoring us for the Scrappers Club! The first Saturday of every month we will be getting together at the Whitefish Mountain Mall...we even have an empty store at our use!! We both will be offering classes from 10am until whenever...then from about 4-midnight we'll have Girls Night Out....a free open crop for those who just want to come hang out!! We will be having giveaways...and games...and its' going to be SO MUCH FUN!! We are really excited about getting the ball rolling. :) November 1st is going to be our first class/crop day...so if you are in the Flathead Valley and want more information...just contact me. :)

*sigh* Warwick that is. I cried for the FULL FREAKIN' HOUR of CSI - Las Vegas tonight. I just cannot believe they actually killed him. And I already know that this year they are writing Grissomm out of the script. What is WRONG with those people? I don't know if I can bear it if Grissom leaves too. And there ya have it...that's what my night consisted of.

Sorry I've been an awful blogger this week...and SO sorry to Michele who I'm supposed to be doing a giveaway with!! I just have not had the best week. I'm sure everyone knows how sucky the economy is right now...but for me that means my husband has not worked in 3 weeks. It's been tight..to say the least. But...this too shall pass...right?? SOOOO...here are my layout for Sweet Pea Scraps October kit. I was actually thinking I would really struggle with the papers since there is SO MUCH PINK...but I didn't do too bad. :) The first two layouts are actually 8x8...they are of Ambria who is my daycare gals' new little baby girl...as a baby gift I am doing 2 pages per month up until she's a year. Let's see how I do since my friend Amy will be celebrating her SECOND anniversary this month and I have yet to complete her wedding album. *sigh* Loser. :)

Then I have a layout of ME when I was a baby...wasn't I super cute? I KNOW it...sheesh..not quite sure what happend to me. :) And actually both the layouts of me (baby and jumping) are redo's...and I'm MUCH happier with them now. So that's a bonus. And then of course you have Auston...who during tball just couldnt handle the excitement. lol I cannot wait until we find a sport that just fits him. And lastly is a layout documenting the boys' first camo. It was hilarious as Auston said to me...Mom...this is for flauging. I cracked right up. :) The layout pictured is for Mathew's book...you can believe that the layout I do for Auston will have the word 'flauging' in there somewhere!!

OH...and be watching as I have some news to share (and it's not even about me)..but it's really exciting if you want a great opportunity to be a part of something amazing. :) But you'll have to work with me...bahahaahahahahaha...so be forewarned...*spooky music in the background*

Can you believe it? EEEEK. The windows on my truck are officially glossed over every morning. Today is the last day of shorts for the boys...as tomorrow rain season begins. :) But this week has been our final hoorah I think...since the boys haven't worn shorts since before school started!! Today I think will be our last day in the 70's. I'm SO not ready for winter.

ANYWAY...I'm hoping tonight to get some new things posted in the shop. I made stuff up last night..just have to upload...so check back later on tonight (aka...after 8pm).

AND...had to remind everyone that today is FREE SHIPPING day at ACBailey. I love this day because even if my budget for the moment is only $10...I can spend that $10 on product and not worry about the shipping. SO COOL. And they now have the Creative Cafe buttons!! Woot woot!! (guess what I'm getting today??)

Who knew I was such a chatty cathy?? :) Anyway..just some completely RANDOM stuff. Don't forget to comment for your chance at the spooky blossom ittie bitties (pictured in post below).

So...a gal sent me a picture of what she was using her bitties for...and it totally made me SMILE. :) How could you not love this photo? It's a bittie covered pumpkin. :) LOVE IT!! And goodies are on their way to you Cindy...thanks for sharing!!

Ummm..I made this cool board for my boys. The one side is their allowance...each spot represents a quarter. I thought that having the visual would help them with the whole getting money thing. For their allowance they must: keep room clean, put dishes in sink, put their clothes in their hamper and LISTEN. If any of these things are not done on a daily basis they must go get a 'spot' and put in the pocket. I'm amazed already with the amount of time that they study this board and count up how much money they have earned!! The other side is their Stellar Day reward. They don't start out with this money..they have to earn it. Each boy is able to earn an extra 2 quarters every day by having good behavior. Mathew's is in the morning before school and at night after school (as his behavior is questionable while at home...and I started it with Auston and had to give Mathew the same opportunity to earn extra money). And Auston's teacher is AWESOME...she actually made a book for him called Auston's Great Days. And he gets a sticker if he has a stellar morning...and a sticker if he has a stellar afternoon. We are hoping to train him to learn how to pay attention to his behavior...versus ADD meds. So they get to take a spot out of the pocket and adhere to the board if they have a stellar day!! Auston is SO excited as today he had a stellar morning...and he lost one of his allowance quarters due to failure to listen (and fit throwing)...so he's so stoked because his stellar morning made him back up to $3.00!! So hopefully this works.

So rambling. Just finished watching 90210...boy it has changed..amazing how risque everything is now a days...do you remember watching Dirty Dancing on the sly because it was such a *gasp* movie? :) But now I'm gonna jump on my gazelle and watch Priviledged...my other new show that I'm loving. So I kinda feel bad for all of you who really want to know what my EXCITING NEWS is. :) And Vivian...no...I'm not pregnant..but if that happened somehow I would probably be the richest woman in the world..since I'm gutted. :) tee hee

It does have to deal with scrapbooking...and I think I mentioned before that I was going to start doing crops and classes monthly now...to pursue the AC Bailey thing and also promote my etsy shop a bit more. Plus...regardless of anything else..I will miss that atmosphere. But...I have hooked up with a couple other gals and we are going to do this together...so I won't be doing it all alone (which is a HUGE relief since I'm a little harder to break out of my shell...I would be nervous to the point of throwing up if I had to do it all alone...I know..I'm such a weenie). BUT...it's bigger than that. We've been given an amazing opportunity and have someone HUGE who is going to back us in all of this. I cannot begin to tell you how excited and giddy I am. We are meeting with these people on Monday...so maybe after then I will be able to share more. So that's my really EXCITING NEWS...kinda. Those of you who live near me will freak out...and be super excited. So...sorry everyone...didn't mean to be a tease..its just one of those things I can't release all the juicy details just yet...but for me IT'S SUPER DUPER EXCITING!!

what a day!! Seriously...I called my friend Missy today and said...you remember that little bubble I used to live in?? She kinda giggled and I said...I need to live in it again. :) Seriously...I have had more go on in my life this last month than I have in the last year. It's mostly because I live in a bubble. :) Inside my bubble it's all nice and toasty safe...outside the bubble...all sorts of weird stuff happens. Seriously. (I just had to say it 3 times...you know that whole odd number thing.)

But today...was a day...holy moly. :) It was nice though because I have a little closure on one matter...although am totally confused by another...and I have the MOST FREAKIN' EXCITING NEWS EVAH TO SHARE AND I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING YET!! That part is going to kill me not to be able to just shout it out loud!! Time, my dear warped loyal readers...in time I will divulge my little excitment. I'll tell you what it's not though...it's not a freak pregnancy or anything to do with children, sadly, KI didn't call and beg me to be on their team as they OBVIOUSLY realized they made a huge mistake *rolls eyes*...and I didn't win the lottery. But it's equally as exciting.

Had a good sale day today...my Christmas bitties are gone already...and I just posted them last night!! I'm thinking I just might have found my niche'?? I still REALLY really love making the embellishment kits...but apparently only one person loves them like I do.

Shawn is heading out tomorrow to go hunting...again. But I have big plans for the weekend...besides a couple hours for work...I"m thinking about painting my bathroom...I cannot handle the floral wallpaper ANYMORE. It's just gotta go. So I might tackle that. I've already picked out some photos for the October Sweet Pea Scraps kit so am planning on conquering those...and of course making more stuff to stock the shop. And...have to do tons of brainstorming for my EXCITING NEWS THAT I CAN'T DIVULGE YET. Are ya sick of the caps yet?? :)

Okey dokey...I'm going to take a nice hot bath...read my Eragon book (cuz you know Brisinger came out on Saturday...but I have to reread Eragon and Eldest before I can read the new one...which yes..I bought on Saturday!). Soooo...my day started out kinda bad....mostly because I ADORE my grampa...all I ever want is his approval. I know...I'm 32 years old and I still let him get to me. But he made a comment that totally crushed me and I pretty much cried all day over. Get them big girl panties on I say right? Honestly...I spent SO MUCH time with my grandparents growing up..and my grampa was the only male figure I had until I was blessed with my dad at age 10...that I just look up to and respect him so much....and he has this way of just saying the most hurtful things. *sigh*

But through all that...my night ended really nice. A neighbor showed up at my door tonight and her and I, I thought could become really good friends...seemed like we had a lot in common. Well a huge misunderstanding later and we were both not talking and barely acknowledging. Which killed me because I'm just not that kind of person normally. But she came to the door tonight and we talked...and found out how silly it all was. And I think we are just hunky dorry now..and I'm SO grateful and thankful that she came to me...it would be MONTHS before I got the courage up to go confront her!! lol So see...night ended okay. :) And another point proven that I am just better off all alone because I tend to mess EVERYTHING up...and that I'm really thankful that I work with men. *giggle* Cuz yeah...maybe it IS me. Maybe I am just socially retarded...heck..what am I saying...I'm not maybe...I know I am!! tee hee

Just posted some Christmas ittie bitties...I am loving this style lately. My spooky halloween ones sold already so I think I better make another set!! And I'm still trying to get that boy kit put together. Shawn is out of town this weekend so I know I can stay up late watching a movie and working away. AND scrappin. Since this whole etsy thing I just have hardly scrapped...and that is SO sad. I miss it.

THANKFULLY I received my October Sweet Pea Scraps kit...how freakin' cool does this look? AND...my date raffle tickets are in this bad boy too. Monday....is over. :) Had to go to Polson for my orthopedic appointment...and excited to say that I can get BOTH my shoulders operated on at the same time!! Woohooo!! That is SO exciting. :) Have to get some new MRI's done and then should be good to go. AND he said probably only 3 weeks tops missing out of work..so that's a good thing!!

Have to share a picture of my adorable boys. :) Grama Steven's got them camo for Shawn's birthday (that's what he asked for!)...so here they are all sported out in their gear. Boy they are some good looking boys...not that I'm biased or anything!! tee hee

Uploaded a few new things in my shop...including some spooky blossom ittie bitties which I'm in love with. :) And will be working on some new stuff including a boy embellishment kit. I'm also going to do more with these journaling circles that I designed...I love that cute little button...it adds so much. I have never seen that done before...well..until a couple days ago!! lol But have some plans on making something up using more of those. I'm being cryptic...guess you'll just have to wait and see. :) I'm learning not to describe too much until after I've uploaded...although..not that it matters much.

AND...here is my Random Chaos layout....my grandparents on their wedding day. I also made a mini kit using everything in this layout so that's kinda cool.

oh and doing a craft fair here in Kalispell in November with 2 other gals...REALLY excited about that so wish me luck. :)

oh and I ran 1/2 mile tonight...wasn't near as hard as I expected it to be. Wow...what a choppy blog post tonight...I'm thinking I need to head to bed. :)

Just got back from my 2nd walk of the day. Yay me. Now i'm thinking a nice big fat bowl of ice cream sounds YUMMY. :) *giggle*

Going to create some more...I decided I gotta just keep doing my thing or I'm never going to 'win' in this thing called life righto?? And I have to finish cutting. :) My date raffle tickets are going to be in the October Sweet Pea Scraps kit...how cool is that?? Thanks Julie and Kristin for the great opportunity!! my doubts about whether or not this whole Etsy thing is good for me. It's been very disheartening the last couple of days and has really made me question the human race. Things that I think are just morally wrong are happening left and right and honestly I don't know if my skin is tough enough to handle it. *sigh* Really really stinks. All I can say is that I've worked SOOOO hard to come up with designs and elements for my embellishments and journaling spots that I have in the store. It just makes me sad.

I went for a walk this morning...I only ran 2/10 of a mile...I thought I was going to die. So basically I'm starting all over again with the whole running thing...how sad since I was up to running a full mile!! Yikes. But I'll get back to it...I know I will!! And since I'm all alone this weekend I am planning on going again tonight.

Have to go to work this morning for a bit as I did't work yesterday at all. Mathew informed me as we pulled up to the school that he had a field trip. Well Friday is pizza day so I didn't pack a lunch for him and his dad was picking him up early to go to Missoula to hunt!! So needless to say...his consequence was going home...and I made him do 3 math worksheets and a book report. :) He wasn't going to get to have a fun free day....I guess I think in the 3rd grade he should have a little responsibility. But it sucks for me because now I have to make up all those hours this weekend...ugh.

And last night I did a layout for Pink Owl's sketch challenge!! I just need to scan it and send to her...it was a great sketch...and I am actually going to do another using the same one!! :) Okay...I will talk to you all later!

is going a bit better...although I'm freakin' EXHAUSTED for some reason. Just want to say a huge THANKS for all the kind words during my whiney rough day yesterday...I really appreciate all the support. The first issue has been resolved which is good...and the second...well no word so I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad sign. *shrugs shoulders* I really have to learn that I cannot please everyone and that it's not my sole responsibility to make everyone happy. HA!...I'll let you know when I accomplish that one. *snort*

Soooo...miss Trena is rockin' the layouts!! She informed me that her son (in the soccer page) thinks he is a celebrity. That TOTALLY cracked me up to no end. I can just hear it. :) So she had to send in a layout with her daughter so she, too, could become famous. tee hee I love kids and how they think. :) So Trena...thanks again for sharing...you will be getting another little goodie in the mail. :) Oh and I love what you did with the groovy girl kit...SO glad to see it in action. Trena also mentioned that she didn't even dent the kit and has plenty left over for more layouts...which totally makes me happy!!

I listed 2 things tonight. Surprisingly enough the fall embelly kit has 44 views thus far...but no bites. But I made some single things along the same line. Some blossom bitties and some jumbo photo corners. Stay tuned for some Halloween items as well!!

anyone who knows me knows that I'm a huge people pleaser and hate to hurt feelers. I'm a Cancer..what can I say? But yesterday was just draining. First off...I had been getting some comments about somethings (sorry so vague)...so finally got up the courage to do a really nice message to this person to just kinda point it out....it took a LOT of me to even get to that point. But now...I'm the bad guy. How does that happen?? So now I feel like complete and utter crap (even though I really shouldn't I don't think) because of the response I received that made it seem like I was being mean. *sigh*

then...I resigned my position at the scrapbook store. I have lots of reasons...but mainly is because the owner informed me (which she has told me off and on for years) that her customers call and complain about me? (okay..so maybe I AM a bad guy!!). I really have a hard time believing that many people can complain about me when I'm a total hermit..I don't TALK to anyone...I would NEVER ignore a customer at a frenzy because I LOVE frenzy's and being able to visit with the customers and ooh and ahh over their recent work. One even said I was arrogant! HA! I told my husband that and he said...honey...you have got to be the most humble person I know. But it literally has made me sick to my stomache and I don't even want to go into that store with the thought that someone else might call and complain. *sigh* Sucks. I just don't get it...I really don't.

But today is a new day...the sun will come out tomorrow! :) *giggle* And I can get through this. I actually have decided that I really want to start promoting my ACBailey a little bit..maybe get some classes and crops together of my own (and NO..I will not be soliciting the store's customers...although that was another thing that was brought to my attention..which I would NEVER do because I think it's morally wrong). We'll see how it goes. Who knows..I might not get anyone to show up since all they do is complain about me. Am I totally feeling sorry for myself or what?? :)

And if you got this far..thanks for listening to me WHINE. Good grief.

But I did list this last night on Etsy. I actually love how it turned out. But please do give me feedback...do you think the price is too high? Too low? Would you buy it?? had one of those emotionally draining days?? Mine was today. But...in a way...it was a good thing...because even though my mind was thinking constantly...I also came to a conclusion and a change that I'm going to make in my life. And I feel good about my decision. :)

So I must confess to the whole cyber world...although it kills me to say anything...which I guess I wouldn't have to but since I want to share these layouts people might piece it together anyway. Remember my BOOHOO post from awhile back..the one that I was frustrated and saw the whole Chatterbox...yadda yadda yadda?? Well...I did something that for me, took a lot of courage to even get to that point. But I did it. I submitted for the KI Memories DT search. I've ALWAYS loved KI and use their papers ALL the time...and generally the same ones over and over again (my RC layout in fact is mostly KI). So I thought that I might as well as I never want to have those...what if thoughts. I knew I didn't stand a chance but did it anyway. And..just like I knew...I didn't stand a chance!! lol But I'm really pleased with the layouts I submitted...and I know that I'm dated...my scrapping style isn't 'trendy'...and by the looks of their new team they are still going for that minimalist look (which I like but just isn't me). So anyway...here are the 2 I did for the submission. (and this is the part where you say..Oh Jenn it's THEIR loss...you totally rock...I just don't understand WHY they didn't choose you. *wink wink*)

I'm working on a couple new things for the shop...another kit and another embellie kit...I'm super excited about them...simply because the buyer of the one got her groovy girl kit today and she LOVES it. Totally made my day and put a smile on my face. She sent me a layout that she used the extreme boy kit on....and I'm hoping to post that tomorrow. I've decided...that for everyone that buys any of my stuff and they send me a picture of what they did with it...I'm going to send them a cool goodie. :) So am writing your name down Trena...be expecting something. :)

Wow..I'm tired. I worked at the scrapbook store last night until midnight...but I didn't get to sleep until around 2am because my brain was working overtime. Does that ever happen to you? UGH..then I was up at 7am...and got busy on changing sheets...cleaning bathrooms and laundry...and of course I had to bring work home from my actual job to make up my missing hours for the week. *sigh* I'm exhausted and totally ready for bed. :)

my rocker...bahahaahaha...yeah that too. Nope..I have a busy morning planned since I have to leave here at 3:30pm to work at the scrapbook store tonight (and sorry Jules...I am taking this box of extras and putting more kits together...I can really spread out there and just get it DONE so that my little pile of destash isn't cluttering up my space anymore!!)

Have to stop at work and print off some more raffle tickets that I made there...then getting them printed...then stopping at the store to cash in my change...then taking the boys to the skate park...then taking them to the store as they are antsy to spend their money. (which I really need to teach them to save...*sigh*) Then home to do some house cleaning and mow the lawn. Get my stuff ready for tonight and head out. Whew. It may not seem like a lot but it's all time...and I am on a limited budget for that today!!!

okay..first of all..I already wrote a huge and boring post and my internet seems to be acting up again...so it didn't get saved. *sigh* BUT...in the meantime (while I'm cursing my internet) FIVE of my things sold in my etsy shop!! Including one of my BRAND NEW items that I just listed tonight!! How exciting is that? Very since I was really beginning to wonder if my stuff just sucked or what.

So the 3 things that are freshly listed tonight...these cute little ovalcle (not quite circle and not quite oval) journal jotters (why must I come up with my own name for things I wonder??), a new raffle ticket which are the months of the year...and my Groovy Girl embellie kit that I'm really proud of. It took me 3 nights to create but I just love it all. I hope someone will love it too! :) Everything in that kit was handcut and handmade by me (well except the ribbons or course!!). Cool huh?

I don't remember what else I talked about earlier...so I'm going to go to bed now. Still feely yukky in case anyone wants to know.

sick and tired...

no really...literally. I'm SOOOO sleepy. This etsy thing is kicking my butt...I'm totally obsessed with it. I stayed up until 11pm creating THESE things here. Geesh. Ridiculous I tell ya. And I'm sick....third day of a sore throat but today my head was dizzy and my tummy yukky. I honestly think I might not go to work tomorrow. :( I might just take the boys to school and come home and go back to bed. I hate being sick...I'm the biggest baby in the world when I'm not feeling well. And if you don't believe me...ask my husband. :)

So speaking of...he should be home tonight...sometime. Then he's off again for hunting camp. It's funny how Mathew's internal clock works. He seems to know when his daddy is gone and when I wake up I have this little ball of heat laying in Shawn's place. We've never let our kids sleep with us so I'm not sure why he always tends to do this when Shawn is gone...but he does. It never fails. :) Oh and remember how I was telling you all about Mathew's sudden change in behavior? Well the devil spawn has rehatched...he told me he hated me THREE times tonight. *sigh* I just hugged him tonight and told him that tomorrow is a new day...a fresh start and we can choose to begin it however we want. He said he wanted to have a good day...so let's hope. And Auston...well I got a call from the teacher. She just raves about how SWEET Auston is..how he is such a good kid...BUT...today he was distracting...she said she had to stop teaching about 15 times today to redirect Auston. She said that as soon as she would touch his arm or whisper in his ear he would look at her with those dark brown eyes and then automatically apologize. She told me that she knows he's not doing any of that on purpose...he just gets into his own little world. She also pointed out that he's very remorseful...which was nice to hear because that's the exact word I use to describe him. But I'm loving her already...she, like myself, does not want to medicate him at this age (I'm 99.9% sure he's ADHD as well) that we are going to try to work on things outside of that. What a blessing!! We just have to figure out how we are going to get him to learn and understand when he is losing that focus...do you think maybe it's trainable?? So we are going to start a new thing...a reward at home for his good (we call them stellar) days at school. She's going to send home a piece of paper with a thumbs up or thumbs down for both morning and afternoon. I'll chat with her more on how we are going to go about it. But the best thing is..she honestly and truly cares and wants what is best for him. I've had the BEST teachers at this school...which makes it worth the 40 miles of driving a day. :)

Okay...like I said..I'm sick and tired..and going to bed. Check back in though as Sunday I will be starting a new challenge/giveaway something or other...haven't quite figured it out yet though. :)

is beginning. Shawn came home Sunday without an elk. Bummer. Left this morning for Libby to work until Wednesday night...then he's leaving that same night to go hunting and won't be home until Sunday. Welcome to my world. :) Honestly...I don't mind. It's been this way since we've been together. A little more difficult now that we have kids but we'll get into our routine...enough that when he does come home he'll be messing it all up!! :) Just hard not being able to say good morning and good night...or even argue. :)

So I have only run once. :( It's just so danged hard to get a good run when the kids and dog go with me...I'm constantly stopping or trying to talk (as they chatter the WHOLE way and well...I need all the oxygen I can get without wasting it on words!!) So...I have been doing my step aerobics except this morning. When I went to do them I couldn't find the DVD remote!! We have a Walmart special DVD player so I'm not able to select my workout to be able to make it play...you MUST have that stinkin' remote. *sigh* I have no idea where it is. How frustrating.

Tonight I put 2 new items up on etsy. Let me back up the bus here...this weekend I started a project...I tend to do this when Shawn is away. I rearranged our bedroom which contains my scrap area and Shawn's hunting shelf. The reason is simple...we switched sides of the bed...and my stuff was now on his side and vice versa. :) So in the midst of rearranging I decided I might as well purge again as my baskets runneth over. So with that...I made up some destash kits. Here is one I called So Happy Together. :) (why did I never use this paper I wonder??...it's all so cute that I almost want to take it apart now and use it...maybe I just do better with the whole kit thing...I love my Sweet Pea Scraps kit just for that reason...) Oh and last night I made some more blossom bitties...these ones are fall themed. I still have journaling spots to get up and some new raffle tickets...but I'm not getting very far on those. Be on the lookout for a new challenge/giveaway!!

Totally rambling...I'll spare ya'll any more of my terribly boring life. :) OH..I forgot...I found a website that deals with Night Terrors!! Mathew has had them for years and it's always been difficult not knowing and not having anyone understand how difficult they are to go through. So my husband got home tonight...boy was I happy to see him!! :) He's been working out of town all week and normally it's not a big deal but he had no phone service...so we didn't even get to say good morning or good night!! But this weekend is archery so he's leaving tomorrow to go hunting..and then home on Sunday..and leaving on Monday again for out of town! Yikes!!

So here are my last Sweet Pea Scraps layouts. And the one of Mathew at his first day of school..poor guy..check out his eyes. That's what happens when his asthma starts bugging him. :( Notice the little journaling block with his signature? Yup...there is a set of those in my etsy shop. :) (as are the labels in the 8th birthday layout!)

Speaking of Mathew...I have to tell ya'll that he is a different little boy. I had told him that the beginning of this school year is a fresh start and he can choose how he wants to start the 3rd grade out. I'm SO proud of him. He's making good choices...not talking as much in class..not being the class clown. He's been nicer to his brother AND I'm getting random hugs which tickles me as he hasn't hugged me without cohersion for probably a good year. We are having good mornings...and he's just been such a good kid. I don't know why the change..but I'm LOVING it. He told his dad tonight (after I told Shawn how awesome Mathew has been) that he's decided it's just easier being a good kid. He's awesome...and I'm SO thankful that something somehow changed in that little head of his because it's nice to have this abundance of love for him again!!

So this morning I got my lazy butt out of bed early (well...5:30 which is way earlier than I have been dragging it out!!) and did my step aerobics. I used to do it every morning and really didn't have any luck with the weight loss but I was always exhausted when I finished. Not today! I was barely winded..and I felt SO much better...like just not as heavy..that was a cool thing. AND...we are starting the biggest loser at work again...tomorrow morning. I haven't decided if I'm going to join or not since I've lost the big part of my weight already...but I figure if I lose 15lbs I'll have lost 10% of my weight and more than likely will win. So we'll see what I choose to do. :)

Oh and last thing..check out this AMAZING site...a little enabling...but it's amazing. :)

So on the way to drop the boys off at school this morning...I totally had to smile. You want to know what makes me so happy? Singing and rockin' out with the boys. I love to look in my little mirror and see the boys singing (we happened to be singing Taylor Swift's picture to burn)...Auston's nose is wrinkled up belting out STUPID OLD PICKUP TRUCK...and Mathew is bobbing his head. Just totally makes me smile. :)

So a couple more Sweet Pea Layouts...you just have to love this month's kit...it's so very cool. :) The first layout is my grandparents...on my grama's birthday...well it'll be 2 years ago on the 16th of this month. She had her surgery to remove the cancer in her brain...and before the dementia really kicked in. Still all the family around really flustered her. She used to thrive for all of us to be together. Gosh...here I go again...SO SORRY...gotta quit that since ya'll are coming here for some FUN. :) The second layout is my mom on her 2nd birthday...just love those photos and it was about the only girly theme I had to scrap so I could use that pink paper!! :) And the 3rd layout is not a Sweet Pea one...just one I scrapped on Saturday night. That's Auston...back in March when he was going to run away. I blogged it. :) And actually just printed out the story and tucked it in the little folder behind the photos so we could all have a good laugh someday. :)

Okay...so the long weekend is over. Boy it was tough today to go to work..I seriously feel like I got NOTHING accomplished over the weekend!! And...my hubby is working out of town..and out of phone service and it's been SO odd not at least talking to him...since yesterday at noon. :( Kinda sad.

In fact...a gal that was at the lss and I were talking about how the girls are SO great at mixing manufacturers...and putting things together that I never would have thought about. And the price...can't beat it. They are fair and honest...and you get a ton for your money. :)

The first layout is of my grama who passed away in April. Boy I MISS her. These pictures were taken before I was even born..but when you look closely you can see the joy on her face in the bottom one...seriously it makes me hear her laughter. I just wish I could give her a hug...and tell her I love her. Just wasn't ready to lose her. *sigh* And the bottom one is of Auston...and his skate park day. That child has NO FEAR...his older brother always uses him as a guinea pig for all stunts...Auston just does it without hesitation. Wonder if it'll always be like this??

And today...as soon as we got home...the boys jumped on their bikes and I went for a run. First in FOUR days...can you say LAZY SLUG?? :) I ran almost the whole 2 miles...stopping here and there to catch my breath. But I needed it. I've been so lazy that I really needed to do a little extra. Okay...I'm gonna watch 90210 just to see what they are doing with my high school show..so have a great evening!!

So thank goodness for the extra day this weekend eh? SOOOOO glad that it's a holiday weekend as I have SO much going on!!

First of all, Renee and I are doing a little joint promotion for our etsy shops...and I will be giving away one of her amazing handmade scrap embellishments...this girl is chalk full of talent!! We will work out the details and let you know...but you will want to check back in on Monday as that's when it all begins!! Now I have to get some new items loaded into my shop..it looks kinda bare in there!!

AND...I will be revealing my Sweet Pea Scraps September kit layouts too! I LOVED this kit...it's perfect for those vintage heritage pages that I love to work on!! Will reveal those tomorrow as well!! So stay tuned...

I'm still here. :) Just been busy and haven't had internet at home thus...no posts this week. School started Wednesday so will have photos to share when I quit being lazy and download them from my camera. :) Running/walking still going good...I'm finally under THAT mark. :) Total of 12 lbs lost since 7/28 so I really can't complain. Ummmm....no big plans for the weekend except working at the lss on Saturday night...so if you live near me..come scrap. :) Shawn is FINALLY going to work...yeehaw. And well...month end tomorrow for me at work. Oh yes..and only 3 people entered my challenge so I'm sending them all a little goodie...be watching your mail (actually probably won't be mailed until Tuesday...deal with it.) Good night ya'll!

So my friend Missy came through for me...at least there was ONE person to do my challenges so I don't feel like a complete LOSER. :) LOVE this gals style...she has the coolest style ever...so great with mixing different patterned paper and a pro at using up her scraps. LOVE how she highlighted the 19...I mean how cool does that look?? Yay Missy!! Looks great...and thanks dude for doing my challenge. :)

Day 3 of the mile run. I had Mathew come with me tonight and ride his bike. Poor Auston was sobbing saying it wasn't fair...even when I explained that tomorrow night would be his turn. He just cried and cried...it was really pitiful. But Mathew encouraged me the whole way...told me that I was jogging 'pretty fast'. :) Finally I had to blurt out...CAN'T TALK. Seriously...I am using all the oxygen I can get to breathe...talking just wasn't in the cards for me. :) And did I tell ya'll my new goal? (can't remember if I did last post or not) I really want to get into shape and see if I can't get on a woman's basketball city league. I just REALLY want to play. Oh and today I wore my jeans that this spring I had to use a rubber band to keep fastened. Just can't believe I let myself get THAT heavy. *sigh*

So I still have yet to get my new creations up on Etsy...OR scrap. I'm such a slug. I work Saturday at the store although I don't think I'll get to scrap...I'll have to actually work that shift. :) But I'm going to take my SPS kit just in case I get a few minutes of down time.

sorry for the dots...no title tonight. :) About to jump in the shower as I smell. And not pretty I might add. I am really proud of myself because I ran a full mile tonight....not all at once but I did run a mile. I ran 1/2 mile then walked a mile and ran another 1/2 mile. I took my trusty companion with me once again...he sure does help keep me going. :) ***ooohhh...had to edit to say that Shawn told me tonight that my love handles are getting smaller!! WOOHOOO!! Cuz...he would know. :) *giggle* ***

Still have a Sweet Pea Scrap layout sitting on my table...the same one that's been there for..ummm...2 weeks now? Not sure why I can't get in the mood to scrap. OH and get this...I totally forgot about my Random Chaos layout!! It just slipped my mind...completely! I feel horrible!! So that tells ya that I haven't scrapped in 2 weeks. Wonder what my deal is??

Getting some stuff ready to put in the etsy shop...some journaling stickers that I whipped up for the September Sweet Pea Scraps kit. They are cute...although I'm pretty sure Julie is going to make them all sorts of pretty colors. :) Mine are just black...but I am embellishing them a bit. Need to figure out how to get some more traffice....but then again I guess it would help if I had more STUFF in the store. I'll get there. :)

Can't believe that school starts next Wednesday...I was looking at the boys' lists and I haven't even bought all their school supplies yet!! EEEK. And Mathew needs some new shoes...his are very...errr...smelly. :) Auston got new shoes at the end of school last year so I think he's okay. We don't do the whole school clothes shopping thing here...they each get a new outfit for the first day of school and that's about it. If they outgrow something or need something throughout the year then we get it for them then....I just think it's silly to drop so much money right before school. Plus..everything they had last year still fits and I always do the after season clearance thing so they have some new shirts that I bought last spring. It's all good. :)

doing my little walk/run thing and boy was tonight tough. Actually...I take that back...the running wasn't bad at all..in fact I ran a good pace tonight. I think that has something to do with my dog...he is a runner and once he set the pace I certainly couldn't stop him. Here he is being all handsome. :) But I'm glad that I'm up and going again....it feels good. Now I'm off to take a Tylenol PM and hopefully get a good night sleep.

and I'm ready for bed...but thought I should update really quick like...not that I have done anything major exciting or anything. :)

lessee...first of all...I'm stupid. Yup...that's right. I get my very first special order on etsy and you know what I do? Undercharge. Cuz I'm too NICE and try to make people HAPPY. So I charged her $10 per autograph book and my materials cost that much...so pretty much I just gave away 5 hours of my time. *sigh* But she was really sweet and nice so I'm not too upset just am realizing that I need to make sure I account for EVERYTHING when quoting a price. I didn't factor in adhesive...which I went through a whole roll and a half (at $5/each) or my 5 hours worth of time. But they turned out cute and the girls I hope will get great use out of them at DisneyWorld getting autographs. What do you think? I even used one of my blossom bitties. :) She is also interested in chipboard albums for the girls...and the price I originally quoted her is going to have to change but I'm sure she'll understand. Hey..it's not my fault I'm dumb. :)

So yesterday I met up with a gal from my hometown. We bumped into each other at Walmart about a year ago....and just NOW finally met up. Mostly it's my fault as I'm really a recluse. :) We met up at the park for lunch..then the boys and I went over to her place and when we were ready to leave I realized we had been there for FOUR hours. Nuts. But she's really nice (I didn't know her really well as I was an 8th grader when she graduated...but she lived next door to my grama) and we had a ton to talk about (obviously). So it'll be nice to have someone to socialize with every few months when I get the urge. *snort*

Oh and speaking of me being all social and all....I was invited to be part of a book club! Woohoo!! I'm actually stoked. (my husband said...you are SUCH a nerd). Once a month they get together and discuss a book...this time they are all reading biographies...any biography. I've never read one so that'll be interesting. Normally I guess they all read the same book. Cool huh? And I'm almost...almost done with the Hobbit...boy has that been a grueling task.

And I suck. I haven't ran the last 3 nights. It's going to be hell tomorrow when I go for my nightly walk/run. I think I need to start doing my step aeorbics in the morning as well...I need to boost this whole thing up a notch cuz I'm really wanting to lose some more weight.

Alrighty then...that's my excitement...have a Happy Monday. OH...and I posted a new challenge on the Sweet Pea blog...check it out. And speaking of challenges...remember the 2 I have going. :)

my challenge was sposed to end TOMORROW but since I have a bunch of slacker readers apparently...I'm going to extend the deadline to the 24th. So NOW you have NO excuses but to get an entry in!! I'm giving you 2 more Saturdays to get a layout done. :)

Monday has come and gone...

and I'm exhausted!! I ran again tonight...but I think I partially died. :) Every cell in my brain was screaming at me to STOP...just STOP the torture. My lungs burned, my stomache burned, my throat burned and my shoulder ached...yet I endured and kept on running..that whopping .6 of a mile. :) Whew. Glad it's over with.

So here is my first challenge layout as promised....BECAUSE. And I made these little things that I call button bitties and threw in my etsy shop cuz I thought they were cute. :)

And I have to tell you of something that makes me happy at this moment....That 70's Show. The funny thing is...I used to think it was a stupid show...now I laugh my rear end off while watching reruns. Red totally cracks me up..he's SO blunt. And Kitty's laugh...omg..is so contagious. Yeah...I'm pitiful. That's my dose of TV for the night...reruns of That 70's Show.

This weekend...

has actually been really nice. Saturday morning the boys let me sleep in until 8:30am!! I don't think I've slept that late since...well since before I had kids!! Shawn was already out the door as he went scouting..yes...hunting season is already upon us...in fact...this weekend is opening for archery antelope..and yes...he's hunting. :)

So I took the boys to the skate park. They have been begging to go. Of course...once they saw the actual skate park up close they didn't know what to do. I think they thought they would just start out rolling around like the 'big' kids. Intead I had them go on a little ramp and they practiced just going down and back up the other ramp...nothing too dramatic. Unfort...they only had about 20 minutes when the skies opened up and let loose these humongous rain drops. I loved reviewing the pictures I took...the one of Mathew totally cracks me up as I caught his little tongue sticking out in concentration. Every Saturday the skate park is open for 7 and under until noon...and even though Mathew is 8 I thought it was probably better he learned and got comfortable before throwing him in with the big boys.

Then last night we watched Transformers (only because it was on HBO) and it was REALLY good. I was totally surprised as I had no desire to see it but it was just a really great show. And of course did the normal laundry and cleaned the house. Still a couple loads to do today but then I'm done. Still have to run to Costco and get groceries. Boy am I rambling or what??

SOOOOOO....anyone going to do my challenges?? Hmmmm??? I'm about done with my BECAUSE layout which I'm thinking the embellies I might make and put in the etsy store as well. I need to get busy and make some more things for it as it certainly looks bare in there!!

Okay well I'll stop rambling now. I'm about to post another challenge on the Sweet Pea Vine if you all want to check it out...I think it's by Chantel this week. And I have to get started on the amazing September Sweet Pea Scraps kit. Okay..I'm done now..promise!! Have a great day!!

so this is me....

tonight...at 9:15pm. Yes...I look like a dork. But that is totally me. :) I'm not photogenic at all....see my red complexion? Yeah....I can thank my father for that...and it only gets redder when I exercise!! The stringy, clumpy hair...oh and the sweat. Boy do I sweat. (which I actually wear a thick sweatshirt when I'm walking so I'll sweat extra much...and I think I'll try the wrestler's trick and wear a garbage bag over my tshirt and under my sweatshirt...yes...I'm odd) BUT...my point in this photo is that I have been on a weight loss mission.

I am bound and determined to get down to my goal weight..which when I started was 15lbs. I'm excited to say that I've lost 6 of those pounds already. Since last Thursday I've been walking a little over 4 miles a day. Every morning I walk 2.2 miles and the same every night. I have been making it in about 1/2 hour so I'm booking it. :) I feel GREAT. I haven't really noticed anything so much in my clothes as of yet...but the scale is going down and that in itself makes me VERY happy. And tonight...tonight I ran. And I didn't die...which I thought was very cool. :) I ran about a mile and did okay and now I am thinking maybe I can start running so my goal is to run the whole 2.2 miles. We'll see. Anyway...I'm just rambling...just happy that I feel good. Can't wait to lose the pudge in my face and around my middle. It's amazing what a little exercise and fresh air can do for ones soul.
